Size Inclusive Care
Compassionate, evidence-based support—no weight-loss agenda, no stigma.
Ellen is committed to practising weight-neutral and size-inclusive healthcare.
What You Can Expect:
- No weigh-ins. If weight monitoring is medically necessary, it is typically managed by your GP and will not be done at YMS.
- No weight-loss recommendations. Ellen does not prescribe weight loss as a health intervention and will only discuss weight if you initiate the conversation.
- Evidence-based care. Every recommendation is grounded in research, and you’ll always have the opportunity to provide informed consent.
- A stigma-free space. Ellen is dedicated to providing a supportive, shame-free environment.

Harm Reduction for Intentional Weight Loss
Ellen believes in body autonomy and respects your right to make choices that feel best for you. They understand the significant impact of weight discrimination on mental health, quality of life, and functional capacity, and recognise the relentless struggle to overcome these challenges. In certain situations, weight loss may even be necessary to access life-enhancing care, such as fertility treatments, major joint replacements, or gender affirmation procedures.
For those pursuing intentional weight loss, Ellen offers harm reduction support to help mitigate the risks associated with movement interventions. This includes:
- Collaborating with you to achieve your goals in a supportive environment, free from judgment or pressure, while respecting your desire for weight loss.
- Identifying your unique risk markers and developing an exercise plan that prioritises minimising these risks. This approach focuses on enhancing protective factors to support your well-being.
- Establishing clear safety markers to help you recognise when it's necessary to pause or adjust an intervention, ensuring both your physical and psychological health are prioritised over weight loss.
